چکیده
The present paper is dedicated to the modeling of non-linear behavior reinforced concrete structures subject transverse shear or torsion under monotonic and cyclic loading. fiber beam element approach has been proved be an interesting strategy, but needs improved for effects. This can achieved by enhancing cross-section kinematics with a warping displacement field. field must free from rigid body motions, problem well posed. condition enforced projecting displacements orthogonally space plane displacements. contribution proposes kinematic enhancement Timoshenko new formulation projection functions. shape computed along rotations implicit solution procedure. proposed takes into account possible material heterogeneity cross-section. It enables profile evolve in time damage state, as may occur structures. validated using analytical case shear, 3D simulations beams torsion. To address nonlinear behavior, comparison experimental results performed. first study shows that including model drastically improves prediction second ability deal bending column.

Development of shear and cross section deformable beam finite elements applied to large deformation and dynamics problems
In this paper, beam finite elements based on the absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF) are presented, in which the orientation of the cross section is parameterized by means of slope vectors only. Resulting, no singularities due to an angle parameter occur and the mass matrix is advantageously constant. A continuum mechanics as well as a structural mechanics based formulation for the ela...
متن کاملGeneralized Warping In Flexural-Torsional Buckling Analysis of Composite Beams
The finite element method is employed for the flexural-torsional linear buckling analysis of beams of arbitrarily shaped composite cross-section taking into account generalized warping (shear lag effects due to both flexure and torsion). The contacting materials, that constitute the composite cross section, may include a finite number of holes. A compressive axial load is applied to the beam. The...

the rapid melting of a semi- infinite body due to the absorption of a cw laser beam radiation has been studied. the enthalpy technique for the solution of phase change problems has been used in an explicit finite difference form to calculate the transient temperature distribution in the semi-infinite body and the growth rate of the melt pool. the technique has been modified so that it is not ne...
متن کاملAn Elasticity Solution for Static Analysis of Functionally Graded Curved Beam Subjected to a Shear Force
In this paper, using 2-D theory of elasticity, a closed-form solution is presented for stressdistributions and displacements of a FG curved beam under shear force at its free end. The materialproperties are assumed to vary continuously through the radial direction based on a simple power lawmodel and Poisson’s ratio is supposed to be constant. In order to verify the solution, it is shown that a...
متن کاملOn the selection of an appropriate excavation pattern for urban tunnels with big cross-section: A case study
Among various practical measures used for restriction of the ground surface settlement in such tunnels driven in soft ground, selection of an appropriate excavation method plays a significant role. In this paper, employing suggested diagram by Yu & Chern, corresponding values of Niayesh tunnel has been inserted into the diagram. Later, two excavation methods namely: central diaphragm and side d...
